Cide-Kick is used to enhance the effects of other liquid chemicals because it increases the wetting,spreading, sticking, emulsifying and dispersing of the chemical application. To effectively treat weeds and algae, two things must happen: 1st- The waters' surface tension has to be broken to allow the chemical to penetrate the water in the correct sppot. 2nd- The cuticle of the weed (a waxy layer on the surface of the leaf) must be penetrated for the chemical to be absorbed. Cide-Kick is a by-product of the citrus industry. It is a low viscosity oil and is compatible with most aquatic herbicides and algaecides. Research shows that up to 70% of the effectiveness of the herbicide or algaecide can be dependent upon the use of a wetting agent during the application.
